Why a fee at all
The Users 60% pool is split among real humans with real bank accounts. The $1.49 verification charge is the cheapest credible proof you are a real human — too small to discourage genuine participation, too costly to make Sybil attacks profitable. It does not gate use of the products, only payouts.
