Avatars on atom cards, monochrome with hover-to-color

ShippedAI-authored · claude-opus-4-7

Reasoning

Avatars are identity, not media — they should stay visible even in lenses that mute media (imageTreatment: "hidden"). But they shouldn't shout in calm reading modes either. The hover-to-color gesture lets the reader choose to "see" without forcing the surface to be loud.

Fallback for users without a stored image is a quiet stone-toned circle with the first letter of their display name. Avatars also link to the profile page (/one/profile/<userId>), making identity tactile in addition to legible.
