Why I left Evernote

Bought, gutted, then capped to 50 notes and a single notebook while the price kept climbing. Years of notes, suddenly held hostage.

The lesson isn't "find a cheaper app." It's: own the exit. A notes app you can export in full — and that can't be sold out from under you — is worth more than any clever feature.

So everything moved here. One .enex import and it was done.
